Recycled Silk Tea Bag Jewelry Pouches
Several tea makers offer their product in silk or nylon tea bags. Mighty Tea Leaf uses hand-constructed silk tea bags. Recycling these bags are a great way to keep necklace chains tangle-free and other pieces safe from scratches and co-mingling against your will.
Notice the two rose-colored bags on the white background? Died with a little food coloring. If you want to get fancy for gift-giving, you can dress up the bag by sewing a string of pretty beads directly onto the stitching on three sides of the bag and out into the string.
Tea used to be housed in sack-like hand-stitched muslin and silk bags, until commercial processing began using paper. With the rising popularity of herbal teas and the organic lifestyle, some companies have returned to the earlier practice.
Here's a fun read in my blog that posts next week: Cutty Sark: Whisky, Witches and Tea
I just loved the idea of recycling these little bags for some other purpose, so I came up with this alternative!
Enjoy!
